For any practitioner volunteering or being paid by Renegade Therapies who feels led to step into the roll of mentoring or counseling a youth in your clinic or practice, and your professional licensing does not allow this within your scope of practice...

You will need a clear seperation between the therapy you are providing, like Massage Therapy, Acupuncture, etc. and the counseling and/or mentorship you provide. You are well within your right to mentor and counsel, just as any Big Brother/Big Sister program coordinators do without any licensing or acceditation at all. However, counseling and or/mentorship cannot be conducted within the time that the holistic service is being adminstered.

You'll need to conduct it pre or post service/session.

This information was gathered form the Oregon State board of Massage Therapists Director himself. And we have it in writing for our protection. If you are a massage therapist, you are safe to proceed in the fashion described above.

Based on our research into the board of acupuncture and chiropractic, the same standards apply, but feel free reach out to your state board with any further questions or concerns.
